We, the Grade 11/12 art class at Maxwell International Baha'i School, have submitted our artistic ideas for the "Peace in the Middle East" quilt project because we feel this is a worthy cause.
Working towards peace is something we strive for at Maxwell, in our community as well as in the world as a whole. We try to expand our knowledge of other cultures, religions and races by our international peers.
The following quote is a reflection of the beliefs at Maxwell on peace:
"O ye children of men! The fundamental purpose animating the Faith of God and His Religion is to safeguard the interests and promote the unity of the human race and to foster the spirit of love and fellowship amongst men. Suffer it not to become a source of dissension and discord, of hate and enmity. This is the straight Path, the fixed and immovable foundation, the changes and chances of the world can never impair its strength nor will the revolution of countless centuries undermine its structure."
--Baha'u'llah.
We hope that our contribution to this quilt will serve a wonderful purpose in promoting peace.
Sincerely the students of Maxwell International Baha'i School
