There are many worthwhile organizations working towards Middle East peace.  I have listed only those twith a direct connection with the work on this site.

Seeds of Peace www.seedsofpeace.org  is a summer camp in Maine, dedicated to empowering young leaders from regions of conflict with the leadership skills required to advance reconciliation and coexistence. Some of the squares in the quilt were made by Seeds of Peace campers. When I held workshops to encourage people to make quilt squares, for inspiration I always showed a short video about Seeds of Peace and one about Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam.

Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam http://nswas.org is a  village, jointly established by Jewish and Palestinian Arab citizens of Israel, that is engaged in educational work for peace, equality and understanding between the two peoples. When I held workshops to encourage people to make quilt squares, for inspiration I always showed a short video about Seeds of Peace and one about Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam.

The images in Gallery two with the writing in English were made by young teenagers in a workshop sponsored by the Palestine Center for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation. www.mideastweb.org/ccrr

The images in Gallery two with the writing in Arabic were made by women at a workshop sponsored by the Bent Al-reef Empowerment for Women project, organized by Tent of Nations. http://tentofnations.org

Len and Libby Traubman of the Jewish Palestinian Living Room Dialogue Group in California http://traubman.igc.org/dg-prog.htm  send out information on Israeli and Palestinian dialogue and co-existence. They have been very supportive of the Middle East Peace Quilt and the Palestinian portrait project.

Peace it Together www.peaceittogether.com  unites youth from opposing sides of the Israeli Palestinian conflict for a program of dialogue and filmmaking. The films they co-create are used as peace-building tools to advance reconciliatory approaches to ending the conflict.

The Puffin Foundation Ltd. has sought to open the doors of artistic expression by providing grants to artists and art organizations who are often excluded from mainstream opportunities due to their race, gender, or social philosophy. I am grateful for the support they have provided for me on a number of occasions in my Middle East peace work.
